Lauren Agosta
Lauren is a mission-driven arts leader and independent consultant dedicated to facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration in order to build community and strengthen the ecosystem for socially engaged artistic practices.
As an independent consultant, Lauren leads and oversees the development and execution of creative projects for clients within the socially engaged arts, social impact, and philanthropy ecosystems. She is focused on project design, management, and evaluation, facilitation, workshop and convening design, and strategic planning. Lauren is an expert facilitator trained in a range of techniques and methods that promote inclusive and collaborative initiatives, events, and decision-making processes with creativity and people-centered approaches.
Prior to her work as a consultant, Lauren was the Senior Program and Collaborations Lead for Culture and Art at the Open Society Foundations (OSF). Through her work with the Arts Exchange and later the Culture and Art program at OSF, she has supported numerous artists, cultural producers, and arts and culture organizations working towards more open, just, and inclusive societies around the world. She organized the Arts Forum: Art, Public Space, and Closing Societies, helped to design and launch the Soros Arts Fellowship, and led large-scale international collaborations including the Regional Creative Hubs, an initiative bringing together artists, activists, and journalists in West Africa and the Western Balkans to challenge corruption through creative activism.
Lauren is also a current board member for the Alliance of Leadership Fellows, a nonprofit organization focused on leadership support and development for individuals working for equitable and sustainable human flourishing.
